Happy New Year!!
Welcome back to another year of Project 365.
Here is our start to the year!
Wednesday 1st January
We were closed New Year’s Day, so laid on a buffet for the family and had an afternoon of fun and games.
Our favourite new game is “The Wheel” and we ended up spinning in and out of the kitchen on an office chair, each taking it in turns to host.

Thursday 2nd January
Back to work for me. I have literally had two days off over Christmas, but didn’t want to use any holiday up, as hoping to go away later in the year.
One of the perks of working for Tesco is we sometimes get reduced items go free, once it goes past a certain time of the day. I picked up a full finest Christmas dinner pack which would have cost nearly £50, so we had a second Christmas roast.

Friday 3rd January
For Christmas we were given a Dunelm gift voucher and I am terrible for putting vouchers away and forgetting about them.
We have had our lounge rug for years and it has seen better days, so we decided to spend it on a new rug. My lounge finally has a properly matched colour scheme.

Saturday 4th January
We bought a bioethanol fire place before Christmas and it has been a real game changer with the freezing weather we have been having.
Living in a terrace, we cannot have a log burner, so when I saw a fake flue to make it look more authentic I had to have it. It definitely makes the room look and feel more cosy.

Sunday 5th January
My lucky colleague won a free day off work over Christmas in the raffle and decided today was the day, so a work day for me.
We lost all our temps on 31st December and with quite a lot of absence, we were really short staffed so it was a tough shift. I really earned my money!!
The kids are all into their games after Christmas, so Dad taught Eliza how to play draughts. I am not entirely sure his rules were the official ones though.

Monday 6th January
Not quite back to school yet – the kids have an inset day!
The temperature has really dropped and they are threatening snow, even for us here on the coast, but I will believe it when I see it.

Tuesday 7th January
Back to school!!
The kids have been sleeping in until almost lunchtime over the Christmas holidays, so it was a real struggle getting them motivated for the school run. They were straight into Oliver rehearsals after school, so were all shattered when they got home.

Isaac didn’t even switch his console on, so must have been exhausted!
Wednesday 8th January
A much needed day off for me.
I was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast but she was poorly, so just enjoyed a chilled day at home.
Callan FaceTimed me to let me know that Barney is properly walking now, after taking a few tentative steps over Christmas.

Thursday 9th January
If you followed last years Project 365, you will know that Eliza took her Lamda exam back in November.
Well, she got her results today and I am proud to say she smashed it and got a distinction!!!

Friday 10th January
It’s freezing!!!!
As a woman of a certain age, I haven’t been wearing a coat, but even I have dug out my warmest snugly one as I have struggled to stay warm.

Saturday 11th January
I have changed my phone. Isaac’s old phone had issues with the screen, so he has taken my old one and I have upgraded.
My first photo on my new phone was of a Starbucks Hot Chocolate.
