Project 365 2025 – Week 10

And just like that we are in March!

The weather has been lovely this week, shame I have been at work.

It feels like the kids are constantly at work and / or rehearsals but its only another week until their show and then we will have to wait until the summer for the next one.

Here is our week:

Sunday 2nd March

I am a poorly one today. It isn’t very often I am ill but the kids all looked after me as a snoozed on the sofa.

Thankfully I was feeling a bit better by the afternoon and I managed to get outside the house to take the kids to their rehearsals and spied this cheeky heron on top of my neighbours roof.

Monday 3rd March

It is a busy time for donation requests at work, but everyone is asking for Easter Eggs and I have had to resort to sending pictures of what we have, as I am sure people don’t believe me when I say we have barely any.

A charity came in to ask for 2,000 of one particular type – I had the grand total of 17!

Tuesday 3rd March

Pancake Day!!

I cheated and bought the pre-mixed pots and the kids made them all by themselves. Was very disappointed to only get three pancakes out of each mix – will have to buy more next time, or make the batter myself.

Wednesday 4th March

I met my friend for breakfast at Tesco (I don’t have a cafe in mine) and was surprised by how cheap it was compared to other places we have visited. I paid £3.25 for avocado on toast and it was delicious.

It was then a busy evening of Mum’s taxi as the kids had more rehearsals ahead of their next show later this month.

Thursday 6th March

Another work day and despite being a day I normal spend working on community projects, I didn’t move from the checkouts as we were really short staffed. It was however, a day of sorting out issues, so was productive.

The obsession with garden birds continues and we have been watching them enjoy our bird feeders and inspect the bird boxes. We have had them nesting before, but our old boxes were rotten so we have put up new ones and I don’t think they are as sure of them – plus the squirrels that seem to enjoy our garden.

Friday 7th March

Another day of being thwarted at work as our area manager was in store using the office I normally use for manager reviews.

Thankfully I managed to improvise and made up a trolley for Easter Egg donations by making the posters at home and taking them in with me.

Saturday 8th March

A nice short day for me as I had two hours holiday left to book, so finished early.

Once I had got changed, we headed to Swanage for a walk and to enjoy the lovely warm spring weather.

A visit to Swanage wouldn’t be the same without a visit to our favourite arcade, where is was mine and Sebby’s turn to be on a winning streak.

Sebby managed to win two rings and a cuddly toy, plus they had almost 400 tickets, not that they buy much, but its the fun of winning.

  1. Oh we love the arcades. It is very addictive, so it’s good we only go to them while on holiday! We never find recipes for pancakes provide anywhere near as many pancakes as they say. We double our mixture, and the OH and N will still get through it themselves – although they do use a large frying pan. Recipes must assume tiny plates and pans

  2. I’m eagerly awaiting spotting the Herons on my dog walks they don’t seem to have returned just yet, it always amazes me how big they are.
I went with those pre-mixed pancakes this year and you are right they don’t make many pancakes, I don’t think they tasted as good this year either. I’m going back to making my own next year.
We love a traditional arcade, well done to Sebby on his wins! Swanage looks lovely, it’s been the perfect weather for a coastal visit.

  3. Oh no! So sorry you were poorly. Well done to the kids for letting you snooze.
Good luck with sorting the Easter egg donations.
That avocado on toast really is a bargain and looks so tasty too. x
