Project 365 2025 – Week 14

Hello April!!

I cannot believe we lost an hour on Mother’s Day of all days. Thank goodness I am a parent of teenagers!

Here is our week:

Sunday 30th March

What a glorious day and I was thoroughly spoilt by all the kids, with a voucher for my favourite beauty salon, a couple of jumpers. flowers, a picture and a keyring!

We decided to make the most of the day and headed to Durdle Door for a long walk.

It was a lovely day, but we stupidly decided to walk the length of the beach and with the steps to climb, I really felt it the next day.

Monday 31st March

Really wasn’t feeling my 4am wake up call after losing an hour with the clocks going back and it was a long day at work!

I am not sure how I stayed awake, as we had tickets to Chicago at Bournemouth Pavilion in the evening, but I managed it and it was an amazing show. I would have liked to meet the cast at the stage door, as we had Jeanette Manrara and Sinitta, but I was exhausted by the end of the day, so we headed home.

Tuesday 1st April

Julia’s House is our local children’s hospice and they have launched a mermaid tail trail, to raise money. They are dotted all around Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and today I found the first one, up the road from work in Westbourne.

Wednesday 2nd April

My day off and I used part of my salon voucher for a facial. I didn’t realise I would get a head massage at the same time and I ended up with my hair all over the place – worth it though.

I have been craving chippy tea since Abbey mentioned it during our walk to Durdle Door, so after dropping the kids as their musical theatre class, we headed to the beach for a sneaky treat.

We also found another mermaid tail in the process.

Thursday 3rd April

Guess what?

Another mermaid tail – this time at Tesco Tower Park and my favourite one so far.

One of my colleagues is also looking for them, so we have challenged ourselves to see who can find them all first!

Friday 4th April

I run a charity bookstand at work and we have been raising money for Waifs and Strays Cat Rescue, as one of my colleagues rescued all 8 cats from them.

It is obviously a charity close to a lot of people’s hearts as we normally raise between £300 – £400 a month, but this time we raised £550!

Saturday 5th April

Another work day for me and I got home to a phone call from Callan, who was babysitting for Lilah. She was poorly, but her Mum and Dad were out, so I headed to Sussex to pick her up.

Thankfully her temperature had come down by the time I got there and she was very happy to see her Boo when we got home, but she was poorly through the night.

  1. I saw Chicago in Oxford but with Fay Brookes. It’s an excellent show. We didn’t have the prop stuff though which is a shame, although the theatre there is tiny. Loving the tails trail. I didn’t get chance to see the trail in Oxford last summer unfortunately. I do like a trail

  2. It looks like you had a lovely Mother’s Day, that’s a nice photo of you and the girls at the beach.
Those mermaid tails are amazing and for such a good cause, I hope they raise lots of money and good luck in your search for more.
I would love to see Chicago at the theatre, well done on staying awake for it after an early start.
I hope Lilah is feeling better now.

  4. I hope Lilah is better now, poor thing, how long is the drive to get her? The weather looked great for your trip to Durdle Dor. That’s a great amount raised for 2nd hand books. I’d love to see the Tails, they look great.
