I was sent a Baby Bjorn Baby Balance Soft Bouncer to review on Resource Reviews a couple of months ago, but have been desperate to try it out once Sebastian arrived.
I was waiting for hubby to open the box and put it together, but got impatient and ended up doing it myself to find that there was no self assembly involved. You simply take it out of the box, remove the packaging, set to your required setting and it’s done!!
Made from 100% soft cotton and with rounded edges the extra supportive design creates an extra cosy feeling for baby. I have the black / dark grey colour way which is perfect for my lounge colour scheme but there are 5 other colourways to choose from.
The bouncer is designed to give a gentle rocking movement that develops motor skills and balance…….the more baby moves, the greater the rock.
As Sebastian is only a couple of weeks old he cannot make the bouncer rock yet, however he sits comfortably in it and watches everything going on around him. I can gently bounce him using my foot or hand and it does give a lovely smooth bounce action.
The ergonomic design of the bouncer ensures Sebastian gets proper head and back support even from newborn and the safety harness has lovely soft padding to added comfort. I plan to purchase the wooden toy bar to go with my chair for an added activity for Sebastian.
The bouncer has different height settings for different ages and even folds down completely flat for storage, which is great if you don’t have a lot of space and want to put it away when it isn’t in use. When Sebastian is walking and sitting unaided the fabric can be reversed to create a comfy chair which can be used until he is approximately 3 years old (29lbs in weight).
The recommended retail price for the bouncer is £119.99 (or £129.99 for the Organic version), so it is in the top price range for bouncers, but its stylish looks, ergonomic design and the fact that this grows with your child and will last until they are well into toddlerhood makes this a fantastic buy.
