Project 365 2024 – Week 12

Show week is finally here!!

I am absolutely exhausted with all the running around for rehearsals and last minute costume additions, but it is all worth it, of course.

Here is our week:

Sunday 17th March

It feels like a long time since I had a day out with the kids, but today we headed to Snowtrax to try out their new and improved Ringos.

Travellator

We love the Ringo, but the issue always was that the youngest member of the family would always need their Ringo hauling back to the top of the slope, which usually fell to me. Now they have installed a travellator, which carries you to the top in style.

Snowtrax

The kids had lots of fun spinning down the new tracks and thankfully weren’t too tired for their evening rehearsals.

Monday 18th March

A stupidly early 4.45am start at Tesco and I did a COVID test before work as felt so awful and couldn’t stop coughing. Thankfully it was negative.

I just about made it through work and the school run, but really didn’t feel well and promptly fell asleep on the sofa. (Thanks for the photo dear Husband).

Tuesday 19th March

It is a very rare day when I phone in sick to work, but I could barely move from the sofa. I spent most of the day asleep, apart from a visit to the GP of diagnosed laryngitis.

I think Willow enjoyed having us home as she got the run of the house.

Wednesday 20th March

I felt a little better, but another day off sick as although still coughing well. My husband was on holiday this week, using up accrued holiday, so it was nice having him waiting on me.

We did manage to go out for a short walk to get some fresh air. We managed to spot a kingfisher but it was too quick to take a photo, so I only got one of a swan.

The kids had another evening of rehearsals and I was treated to a musicals sing / dance off before they went.

Thursday 21st March

Another day off for me and we caught up on a couple of films that we wanted to watch. Well, when I say we, I slept through most of Belfast!

I think Willow wanted to watch Doctor Who!

Isaac had parents evening and it went really well. His mocks results are all passes, but he can improve on a couple, but with all the extra work he has been doing with his show, he has done really well.

Friday 22nd March

A day I have been waiting for / dreading for a few months. I have been really struggling with peri-menopause symptoms for the last few months and despite changing medication numerous times, things haven’t improved.

I was on the waiting list to have a Mirena Coil fitted and it was finally done today, along with a dreaded smear test. Thankfully it all went smoothly, so will just wait and see if it settles things down.

Random sighting of the day, a fox eating a Bueno in a car whilst on the school run. Apparently it’s there a lot, although I haven’t seen it before.

Saturday 23rd March

It’s show weekend and the kids are performing at Bournemouth Pavilion, their first time on a proper stage.

We have definitely learned a lot over the weekend. How to do show hair and make-up, when you can and cannot pick them up during a break (cue a last minute Tesco meal deal run) and how long it takes the boys to exit the building – Eliza was almost first out, but the boys were last!!

The show was a resounding success with Eliza and Isaac in four performances; Grease, Barbie, Crazy for You and Freak Flag!

  1. Well done to the kids for their performances. I have Belfast on my watch list, along with loads of other films I never seem to get round to seeing. Hope you’re feeling better now and some time off has helped you recover.

Snowtrax looks so much fun, don’t think we have anything like that around here. Well done on the show!
