Project 365 2025 – Week 18

If I am honest, it hasn’t been the best week.

The kids have done a fair bit, but it has been a really frustrating time at work as nothing seems to be going right and I am bit with problem after problem.

Hopefully next week will be better!

Here is our week:

Sunday 27th April

We have been gradually de-kiddifying our garden now the kids are older and trying to make it more of a space for wildlife – particularly the birds.

We didn’t get any nesters this year, so we were advised to get some climbers for the back fence, in the hope that it might encourage them next year. To my surprise, Isaac was very keen to help plant and then water them.

We have a checkout meal once a quarter for our staff and 25 of us headed to the Circo Lounge for a bite to eat in the evening. I had Bang Bang Chicken, which was delicious.

I can’t just leave a picture of my main course as dessert was amazing – a boozy, giant profiterole!

Monday 28th April

After my night out, I really wasn’t feeling my 4am alarm, but I just about made it through work.

My only photo is of a banner at work, as I had to play detective – someone took my permanent community one down and I was trying to find out who…………….sadly it looks like it has been binned, so I wasn’t a happy bunny.

Isaac has his first driving lesson tomorrow, so I thought I would book in his theory test – the first available one is 12th August – that is a ridiculously long time to wait!!

Tuesday 29th April

Isaac’s first driving lesson!!

He has done some Young Driver lessons in the past, which helped him learn the controls of the car, without the pressure of other drivers on the road. Apparently he did really well on his lesson and was driving around our housing estate almost straight away.

After his lesson, we headed out for his late birthday meal. We tried to get a table at TGI Friday, but ended up at Nando’s instead, finding another Mermaid Tail along the way.

Wednesday 30th April

My day off and I headed to Dorchester with my Mum.

We popped in to Isha Jewellery a few weeks ago, as she wanted her ear piercing’s opened back up as she wants to wear earrings again. I surprised her with booking her in and getting my old one opened back up too.

Despite my earring being out for about 20 year, I was surprised by how easily it opened back up. It was a little sore, but not as painful as when I had it done the first time.

Mum then treated us to lunch afterwards at local cafe, Potters.

Thursday 1st May

Isaac has been lovingly watering his plants on a daily basis and they are really starting to grow. Boys will be boys though! LOL

Friday 2nd May

I have a new toy and TikTok made me buy it!!

Being a woman of a certain age, I suffer with hot flushes, particularly at night, so when I saw this fan advertised, I wanted it.

It took ages for the Shark Turbo Blade to come into stock, but when it did I ordered it straight away and am so pleased with the results. Not only is it super quiet, but you can adjust its height, the angle of the blade and the speed. It’s not super hot at night yet, but I noticed the difference in my quality of sleep straight away.

We were supposed to attend Teddy Rocks Festival tonight, but sadly I managed to pick up a tummy bug, so stayed at home.

Eliza won her Youth Club biscuit decorating competition with her Gingerbread Lol (her youth club leader). It’s actually a really good likeness.

Saturday 3rd May

The dance hair training is still in progress. My plaits don’t seem to be getting any neater, despite watching YouTube tutorials, but what didn’t get in the plait, we stuck down with gel and hairspray!

Thankfully her dance lesson went better than her hair and she was commended for her commitment to practice. She has started late, so with younger girls and is determined to catch up so she can train with her peers.

  1. I’m sorry to hear it’s not been a good week work-wise. I can imagine it gets quite stressful at times.
I love that you are making the garden more nature-friendly. I’m in the process of doing this too. Chris surprised me and bought me lots of plants this week, which will be great for the bees and butterflies.
I’ve loved seeing all the mermaid tails you have been sharing.
Well done to Isaac on his first driving lesson, fingers crossed for his theory. That photo made me chuckle.
Eliza’s design is brilliant. I love the hair and glasses.

  2. That’s good Eliza’s so focused on her dancing. Definitely hard when you come in late to anything – that’s like N and his football, luckily he brings other things to the team in terms of spatial awareness, knowing where his team are, and thinking ahead about covering etc which a lot of the others can’t do as well yet. Exciting about 1st driving lessons. I’m already worrying about how long backlogs are and N’s nowhere near learning. He’ll do his tractor test at 16, but that can take a while to do. But would hopefully be ready soon after his proper lessons start, but then might not be able to get in a test for ages. Living out in the sticks, he’ll need to have a car to help with college and any jobs.

  3. So sorry you haven’t had the greatest of weeks.
    Good job with the garden.
The meal out sounds wonderful but not the 4am alarm.
Well done to Isaac with the driving, good luck to him.
I love the look of that fan! x

  4. So sorry that you’ve had a frustrating week and hope that this week will be a better one. How lovely that Isaac was so keen to help out in the garden. Glad he enjoyed his first driving lesson. That Shark fan sounds amazing. I think I might have to get one of those for the warmer weather. Well done to Eliza on winning the biscuit decorating competition and glad she is enjoying dancing. #project365

  5. It is a shame you got a stomach bug at the end of the week – something is going around here too. I wish my teen would help with the gardening or watering – he is only interested in his cell phone! Best of luck with his driving lessons, it’s such a big step.

  6. Sorry to hear the week wasn’t great, and also ended with a stomach bug.
The garden project sounds wonderful. Glad Isaac enjoyed his lesson.
Haven’t heard of the Shark fan, will google it, just in case we get a hot summer. Our bedroom gets pretty stuffy in summer.
Lovely that Eliza enjoys her dancing.

  7. The garden planting looks good and fab that Isaac is happy to help out. Your meal at the Lounges looks good. I like eating there as they do a wide Gluten Free range.
