Pirate Isaac

When I saw that Tots100 was running a competition to win £500 to spend at Boots I knew exactly which photograph I wanted to enter.

However reading the terms and conditions, I realised that it wasn’t eligible as had previously been published on my blog so I began racking my brains to see if I had another cute photograph in my archives.  With 5 children I have plenty to choose from, but I settled on this one of my son Isaac taken by my daughter Abbey.

Isaac is 2 months old in this photograph and we were preparing to set off for the Poole festival called Harry Paye Day, which celebrates the life of local pirate Harry Paye.  All the local children dress as pirates and parade along Poole Quay alongside a procession and then take part in various pirate games as well as having a Fancy Dress competition and getting to tour a tall ship.

This photograph never fails to make me smile, as I will always remember that as soon as we put his hat on he made a sound just like a Pirate – “Aarrgh”.
