I was very lucky to be sent a variety of Sunsense goodies to review last month and I am finally happy to report that we have had the weather to try them out!
Sunsense is Australia’s number one sunscreen, with SPF’s of +50 and protects from UVA and UVB rays. It is perfect for the whole family – even those with sensitive skin and it is the UK’s No. 1 prescribed sunscreen!
The first one I tried was the Toddler Milk, which came in a 50ml bottle like a roll on deodorant. I found this slightly bizarre until i tried it – it glided on effortlessly and the kids could be independent and do it themselves which mean’t I wasn’t chasing them around the lounge with a hand full of sun cream. It absorbed really quickly, left no sticky residue and I was happy in the knowledge it is water resistant too.
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I suffer with Acne Rosacea. My skin is incredibly sensitive and and doesn’t react kindly to the sun, which makes it much redder than normal.
I have now found my favourite suncare product for me – Sunsense Daily Face!
Not only does it not irritate my skin, but it is tinted too which helps even out the skin tone. Think of a tinted moisturiser but with an SPF of 50 (also comes in 30) – it is not thick so is absorbed easily and gives a matt finish – perfect!!
We also have Sunsense Ultra, which comes in a traditional bottle. Again it glides on effortlessly, is non-greasy and is perfect for older children who are happy to stand still. My husband is off to Las Vegas and has taken this with him to protect him from the strong desert sun.
We have been using these products daily for the last week and don’t have a hint of sunburn, despite spending all day in the sun some days. For a family with as pale skin as ours, this is a breakthrough and I will happily use these products for years to come!
If you entered my Sunsense competition, you will also be aware that they were also running a Sun Sensible Competition for Schools. They had over 200 entries and are announcing the winners on Monday morning.
