Celebrating Dad’s this Father’s Day

June is a busy month in our house.

We have six family birthdays (one of those is a 21st) to budget for, with three in the space of one week.

I always feel for Hubby and my Dad as Father’s Day always seems to get almost forgotten as it always falls on the third Sunday in June. This year I have planned Sebby’s birthday party for the weekend after, so that they get a day dedicated to them.

Sadly, working in retail, Hubby has to work on Father’s Day but that doesn’t mean we can’t make it special for him as he works hard to support the family.

Parental roles have shifted in recent years, with Dad’s getting more involved in day-to-day care, sometimes after a long day at work and are often the first person we turn to in times of trouble, with this relationship continuing long into adulthood.

What is Dad to us?

Whenever I ask Hubby, or my Dad, what they want for Father’s Day, they always say nothing and neither are a fan of clutter, so what do you get the man that has everything and wants nothing as a gift?

Braun Series 3 ProSkin Shaver

Why not give Dad an upgrade he will use and whether he has a beard to be proud of, or is clean-shaven, Braun shavers and stylers combine state-of-the-art technology with a sleek design, so no matter what his style, they make the morning easy?

Braun Series 3 Pro Skin

The Braun Series 3 Shave and Style captures more hair in the first stroke, meaning Dad can shave with greater efficiency and skin comfort than ever before.

This 3-in-1 solution gives the freedom of choice between a clean shave and a precise beard style with one device. Established ProSkin technology pairs up with a set of changeable beard trimmer attachments in Braun’s S3 Shave&Style range with their cutting edge technology and premium craftsmanship work to provide sharp beard styles and the utmost precision.

The shaving head attachment works in straight, intuitive strokes so there’s no need to circle over the same spot twice, helping to minimise skin irritation. The perfect tool for the man in your life who seeks freedom of choice, without the compromise of a close, comfortable shave. For trying a stubble or beard look? Just switch the shaving head for the trimmer head, plus one of the 5 combs, and you can precisely trim between 1 and 7mm. Great results that are even, exact, reliable and repeatable.

Experience Days

New figures show we are continuing to spend less money on buying things, and more on doing things and this is certainly true in our house.

Last year my Dad did a Flight Simulator Experience Day and thoroughly enjoyed taking the controls of a Boeing 737, whereas Hubby has thrown himself out of a plane at 15,000ft, done a bungee jump, ridden in a power boat and hurled himself down zip lines, so I know that adrenalin sports are for him.

PowerBoat

My Dad loves cars and driving and I know he would love a Tank Driving Experience Day and Hubby is keen to try out Velocity at Zip World, the longest zip line in Europe and the fastest in the world!!

  1. Totally understand how you feel as August is our busy month where we have at least 4 birthdays to celebrate and we are always out of budget too. Your selection of items for Father’s Day looks so good esp the Scent Addict

  2. What a lovely list of what dad means to you. Great ideas here. I don’t live in the same country as my dad, but when I last visited him I saw that he had a HUGE collection of aftershave. Turns out both of my sisters and I had been buying it for him every year. We’ve got more creative now!

  3. Ooo these are some great ideas! I’ve booked to take my Dad on a boat trip (the boat was built in 1933!) with lunch meal. My best memories are of being on Dad’s boat when I was younger, but now he’s 76 he doesn’t have one of his own, so I thought we could go experience this together.

  4. I think an awesome day out with the family is always the winner! Although my dad loves to be spoilt with gifts as he very rarely is he enjoys a nice day out with his family the most as we very rarely get to spend good quality time with each other these days!

  6. I think Father’s day in our house gets pushed down the list too, and we don’t have a long list of birthdays to overshadow it. My OH definitely needs an upgrade in the shaver dept so perhaps it’s time to treat him

  7. Fathers Day falls between all the birthdays in our house too. I think we are going to go for an experience day, something we can all do as a family x
