Dreamland Margate reopens in full on Saturday 6th April and will start the season with a full park takeover by Camp Bestival for the school holidays – and it’s FREE to enter.
From 6th to 22nd April, Camp Bestival will bring a taste of its much-loved family festival to the Margate amusement park with live music, rides, and extravagant entertainment for all the family (without the camping!).
As well as enjoying the park’s thrilling, chilling and oh-so-Instagrammable rides, guests will have three unique Bestival installations to explore – the 8m tall Love-Bot that spreads love and joy to all, a mini temple and Bollywood chill out zone, and – returning to Dreamland for the second time – The World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle (taller than the Great Wall of China and accommodates 100 bouncers at a time). Competitive souls can try the wobbly Olympics, festival mask making, and visit some cute and occasionally creepy creatures in the Dreamland Ark.
The Easter festivities will culminate in a Camp Bestival Party on Sunday 21st April, curated by ‘Family da Bank’ (founder and DJ Rob da Bank and his family team), with a day of family friendly DJs, live music and workshops for big and little kids.
Those in need of relaxation can dive into the pop-up Sleep Retreat with yoga, gong baths and meditation from local relaxation experts, while other ravers can enjoy a DJ BBQ and tunes from The Cuban Brothers, Junior Jungle and Rob da Bank himself with more acts to be announced.
Guests will be able enjoy all of this, plus the golden sands of Margate beach in between raves and revels, just 90mins from London by high speed rail.
Camp Bestival is known as the UK’s ultimate family festival, having won Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards five times. Its main summer festival takes place during the first weekend of the school holidays (July 25th-28th) at Lulworth Castle, Dorset. The festival offers hundreds of things to see and do from music headliners Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Jess Glynne and Annie Mac, family shows with Mr Tumble, Mister Maker and Shaun The Sheep, to comedy, spoken word, arts, science shows and circus workshops for all.
“Make sure you pay us a visit during the holidays and head to our Easter Sunday party as we host everything from yodelling gigolos The Cuban Brothers to epic brass bands, soul choirs, a drum and bass roller disco and some restorative yoga flows.
“Put it in your diary, or your kids will not forgive you. See you by the Love Bot!”
Dreamland announced in February that it will be free to enter for its opening season, meaning families can explore the picturesque park and festival takeover for free and only pay per ride and for slots on the bouncy castle. Guests can purchase unlimited ride wristbands in advance (25% off when bought online at www.dreamland.co.uk), or choose Dreamland Membership for unlimited rides during park opening plus special discounts and exclusive membership perks on food and drink and ticketed events all year round.
The Camp Bestival takeover will be during normal park opening hours, and there will be no festival camping or overnight activity. Dreamland will be open weekends and bank holidays, and Wednesdays to Sundays during school holidays, from 6th April.
I like the sound of the Sleep Retreat … can I go now?!

This sounds like so much fun. I will check it out and see if we can go.
That sounds like really good fun. It makes a great day out for all the family and can be worked into a fun few days away too.
Every year I say I am going to go and never make it, maybe this year?
That looks like so much fun! Such colourful photos!
