Project 365 2021 – Week Thirty Five

We are on countdown to back to school, but have tried to fill our last week with fun days out.

Isaac was lucky enough to go up and visit his big brother Callan for a couple of days, where he was spoiled rotten.

Monday 30th August

We headed to Moors Valley with Lilah, where we discovered a new Gruffalo Spotters trail.

There is a new ice cream hut there who sell flavoured Mr Whippy ice creams – well it would have been rude not to try them and they are delicious.

Tuesday 31st August

Eliza’s friend came to play today whilst her Mum worked, so we headed to another local park for a walk.

The kids were all fascinated by this gnarly old tree, which appears to have a spooky face in it and spent ages making up stories about it.

Wednesday 1st September

Today we headed to Paultons Park, to visit their new Tornado Springs area, something that the kids have been looking forward to all summer.

Sebastian loves rollercoasters, but Eliza and Isaac have never been keen, but really want to visit more theme parks, so they were on a promise to try at least one.

Let’s just say we made it to the front of the queue for the new ride Storm Chaser, Abbey went on first with Sebby whilst I looked after Lilah. By the time they arrived back, both kids lost their nerve, so I had to ride by myself. It was brilliant, but a lot quicker than I expected.

We carried on our day, enjoying more of the rides, until they decided that they had to ride at least one rollercoaster. They opted for Flight of the Pterosaur and although there were a few nervous tears from Eliza, they finally broke their rollercoaster duck and LOVED it.

Sadly, they had left it so long to pluck up the courage, that we didn’t have time to do anymore, but hopefully we will be back very soon.

Thursday 2nd September

Isaac went to stay with Callan for a couple of days and they had lots of fun Pokemon hunting and visiting the cinema.

Friday 3rd September

It’s Bournemouth Air Festival this weekend and although we missed out on the daytime fun due to work, we headed down in the evening to watch their Night Air display.

The fast and noisy planes are always our favourite and we loved the Typhoon display at dusk. The plan was to stay for the fireworks, but there was not enough to do for the kids, so we called it a night early as they were bored.

Saturday 4th September

Work for me and I arranged an aircraft hunt around the shop for kids to take part in.

They loved it, although the Red Arrows proved to be very hard to find!!

Sunday 5th September

Back to Bournemouth Air Festival and this time we got to explore all exhibitors who set up along the prom.

Of course the day is all about the flying and we enjoyed displays from the Red Arrows, Blades, Chinook and the Typhoon again.

Sadly, it was really hazy, so I didn’t manage to get any good photo’s, but we had fun nonetheless.

  1. Sounds like a good end to the holidays. N loves roller coasters too, although I think with age i’m less happy doing them than I used to. The air show looks fun too

  2. The air show must have been really nice, love all the pictures from there. I went to one once and I loved it. Now with covid I didn’t check if there are any nearby, so I might have missed. Well, there is always next year.
It’s nice you’ve spent the last days before school doing all kind of activities.

  3. The new Gruffalo trail sounds like fun and it looks like you had a lovely day out at Paulton’s Park. We love it there but haven’t been for a couple of years. The Bournemouth Air Festival sounds like it was fun too. #project365

  4. We loved visiting the new area of Paultons Park. Ethan loves coasters but Little E only likes tame rides. I[m toying with the idea of getting Merlin passes next year. The air show looks fun. It gets to busy at Clacton for Ethan. We have lots of Chinook’s going back to the garrison late at night at the moment. That’s lots of fun ;0) #365
