Project 365 2022 – Week 47

It has been a busy week, with preparations for two school Christmas Fairs and the build up to the National Food Collection with Tesco, so I have been busy packing bags and wrapping presents.

Here is our week:

Sunday 20th November

The countdown is on to Isaac and Eliza’s school’s Festive Friday event. As a new PTA formed just 5 weeks ago, it was a big ask to try and stage it, but the plans were starting to come together and we headed out shopping for grotto presents and a teddy for the name the teddy table.

Eliza wanted to keep him, but was eventually persuaded to part with it.

Monday 21st November

We are working with Good Play Guide on some of the top Christmas toys this year, so after school we built a den.

Fort

It was surprisingly sturdy and Sebby enjoyed making it a real home from home with cushions and blankets.

Tuesday 22nd November

The theme of rain seems to be continuing and it always seems worse at school run times.

Still, at least our umbrella’s are getting some use.

Wednesday 23rd November

A mostly dry day, so we finally managed to try out our new telescope.

All the kids go to scouts and have a better knowledge of the night sky than I do. They pointed out the big dipper and even managed to find some of the planets and get a good view of Jupiter.

Thursday 24th November

The day was prepping for the National Food Collection at work, but in the evening, Eliza and Sebby headed off to watch a local pantomime with cubs and scouts.

The pantomime was supposed to finish at 20.45 but they finally emerged at 21.15, so was a bit of a late night.

Friday 25th November

Festive Friday day and the day was spent setting up our stalls and Santa’s grotto, with lots of local businesses coming along to help too.

It was a bit nerve racking as I am used to catering for a school with 204 pupils, not 2,000, but thankfully it was a huge success and despite being an inset day, a lot of the students and parents came along to support us.

Isaac and Eliza both joined in, by helping run the stalls and even performing.

Saturday 26th November

We cheated last night and ordered a Domino’s but it was a bad choice as we were all unwell overnight. Sadly this meant that I missed my works Christmas party, but Willow enjoyed having company for the day.

How was your week?

  1. Oh no, how horrible being ill after Dominos. The festive stall looks great. I do the PTSA at our school – definitely strange being the size difference. 2000 is huge, out is big enough at just under 1000!
