Project 365 2023 – Week 12

Shrek rehearsals have really ramped up and the kids have stayed late at school almost everyday this week.

Their costumes have arrived, but they won’t let me see them so it doesn’t spoil the surprise.

Other than that, it has been a fairly quiet week here:

Sunday 19th March

Mother’s Day was a quiet one this year as the kids had Shrek rehearsals and my husband was at work.

I popped in to see my Mum and had a little wander around the village and Abbey came over to see us in the late afternoon, but it was too late to do anything and we avoid restaurants as they are too busy.

Monday 20th March

Normally this time of year is when we start heading out on countryside walks, but we have been so busy with work and rehearsals that we haven’t had the time, so I feel like I have missed the start of spring.

I had our scout group’s AGM tonight and got my first proper sighting of spring coming to life, with the Magnolia tree at the scout hut.

Tuesday 21st March

A good day at work as we donated over 60 wetsuits to The Wave Project, who provide surf therapy lessons for disabled and disadvantaged kids.

Eliza had her first make-up attempt for Pinocchio – she wasn’t impressed but I had to explain that they have to go bold, so the make-up can be seen by the audience.

Wednesday 22nd March

A busy day for Isaac. He had school, rehearsals and then a school trip to the Lighthouse to see Noughts and Crosses.

Last week’s show, Teechers, was funny, whereas this one was much more emotional, but they really enjoyed it. I wasn’t so impressed by the 10.30pm finish as the weather was awful.

Thursday 23rd March

I know I am late to the party, but I have become a little addicted to Vinted. I bought Isaac a suit for his Aunt’s wedding from there, but it was slightly too small, so this is my second attempt – very happy with it, although he wants a more colourful tie.

Now to find some shoes!

Friday 24th March

Sebby had an Easter bonnet parade at school, but was most disappointed that he didn’t win with his knitted creation.

I was just proud of him for taking part, as he hates dressing up!

Saturday 25th March

A busy day for Mum’s taxi. Isaac had work, Sebby had a party to go to and then we had to head to Primark to get black trainers for Isaac for the show.

Sebby came second in bowling, so was very happy and then spent lots of money in the arcade!!

  1. It sounds like the Shrek rehearsals are going well.
I have been looking for the blossom on the trees and there isn’t any yet near me. Hmmf.
I still haven’t been sucked into Vinted yet but I keep meaning to have a look. Isaac looks so smart in the suit and what a great Easter bonnet from Sebby. x

  2. The local magnolia tree has blossomed and is already dying, but it’s so pretty to look at. Love Issac’s suit, I agree a brighter tie is needed. Sebby’s Easter bonnet is fab

  3. I don’t buy from Vinted very often, but it’s definitely handy for boys clothes when they’ll only wear the item 1 or 2 times. I’m impressed with the knitted easter bonnet. Did he make it himself?`
