Project 365 2014 – Week 7

It has another tough week here.  I couldn’t share last week but hubby lost his job for the second time in 18 months last week and although I have loved having him home to help, the stress of job hunting isn’t a pleasant one especially when there doesn’t seem to be much around that calls for his skills.

Still, life goes on and we made the best of it.

week 7, project 365

40.  We saw a break in the weather and headed down to the beach aboard our scooters

41.  I am a founder member of a local networking group, supporting mums in business and it was my turn to give a talk about all things blogging.  I expected a couple of people to turn up but there were 26 and I was terrified! (Photo credit to onebusywahm.com)

42.  The weather was horrific so we had a day at home.  I am busy introducing Sebastian to the delights of finger foods

43.  Kian and Eliza help me out with bath time

44.  It was a little chilly today and Sebastian was sporting not one, but two sets of Teddy Bear ears for the school run

45.  We headed out to Build a Bear to review their store and find out all about their Million Hearts, Million Wishes campaign.  They treated Eliza like a Princess and her new My Little Pony has barely left her side since

46.  We had a birthday party at our local Soft Play centre and this was the first time Sebastian got to join in.  By joining in, I mean gazing at himself in the mirror with the occasional tap of a ball!

Project 365 2014 – Week 6

This week hasn’t been a bit rubbish (if I am honest it has been shocking) but you just pick yourself up and get on with it when you are a grown up, don’t you?

I am sure I will share why with you in due course, but for now here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 - Week 6 (2014)
Project 365 – Week 6 (2014)

33.  We saw a patch of blue sky and made a dash to the park where we enjoyed some kite flying and all the activities on offer.

34.  I have been struggling to find Isaac football boots as all the shops only stock from a UK size 10…… I finally found some online in a size 8 (got to love eBay) and he didn’t slip and slide across the pitch for his football lesson

35.  We had so much hail it actually looked like it had been snowing and the kids slipped and slid all the way to school.  It still looked the same when we had to go out at 11am for Sebastian’s 8 month check too!

36.  I drove to Portsmouth in the horrendous storm as Callan had an interview with the RAF about joining up and doing an Engineering apprenticeship.  I am hoping it is what he needs to knuckle down and achieve the grades he needs.  One thing is for sure – there is no way I am travelling in that weather again – his train got cancelled and I had to take him home again and it was a little hairy at times!

37.  Eliza had her feet measured and they have grown (as had Kian and Isaac’s) which mean’t brand new Fairy shoes!

38.  I held a twitter party for UKMumsTV and Nick Jr to launch their new show Zack and Quack.  Here is Charliemoos with her daughter Olive and Eliza posing with the Robot they made.

39.  The weather was rubbish so we had an impromptu Pirate Party with our visitors which involved painting treasure chests and making Pirate Hats and eye patches.  We had great fun!

Project 365 2014 – Week 5

How is it February already?

I have to admit I am glad to see the back of January, although it does appear that the miserable weather is here to stay.  I am desperate to get out and about with the kids but there just doesn’t seem to be anywhere safe to go – the rivers are all in flood, there are high winds meaning trees are coming down left, right and centre – even the beaches aren’t safe at the moment with warnings to stay away.

Here is my week in pictures.

Week 5

26.  Isaac finally got his very own Scootaheadz and did an impression of a Danny Dinosaur Roar!

27.  I visited my old home town of East Preston in West Sussex as I had a meeting with Callan’s teachers to discuss his school work.  It was lovely having a look around all my old childhood haunts.

28.  Isaac got to bring home Peanuts the school teddy, but because he was riding his scooter to school he decided Sebastian should look after him

29.  Kian had a day off school to make his final Options choice so did the school run with us on his scooter, impressing the little children with a few flicks and tricks

30.  I went over to Abbey’s house to help her landlady with some social media advice.  Sebastian and her daughter Senna got on like a house on fire.

31.  We finally bought a new car this week – Isaac laid claim to the seats at the very rear of the car!

32.  Isaac and Eliza making a dash to his swimming lesson.  We moved it to a Saturday as he was finding he was too tired on a Friday night!

Saturday is Caption Day – 1st February 2014

I am quite sad that Eliza’s birthday has been and gone already so I just had to choose another picture from her birthday party that makes me think of Agnes from Despicable Me.  (If you have not seen it click on the link).

Can you give this rather cute photo the caption it deserves?

It's so Fluffy

Project 365 – Week 4

This week has all been about the build up to Eliza’s 3rd birthday.  I have to admit I did try and keep a lid on it by not telling her too soon but with older, and very excited siblings in the house, it didn’t really go to plan.

Week 4

19.  After weeks of moaning that I was struggling to feed Sebastian in his bouncy chair we finally found a reasonably priced Tripp Trapp on eBay.  He loves being up high and watching everyone else eat but I have to admit I am not impressed with it as I find it very difficult to get him in and out of it.

20.  Isaac attempts to ride two scooters at once

21.  The weather has been all over the place this week and we got caught in a thunder storm on the school pick up before this stunning double rainbow appeared

22.  We went to Salisbury to test drive a new car before heading to Smyths Toys to get Eliza her birthday present.  Sebastian was giving Daddy his best “you know you love me” look

23.  The temperature dropped so it was time to break out the snuggly snow suit and cute bobble hat

24.  Eliza’s 3rd birthday.  She had a wonderful time at her Be My Bear party and this is the first year she really understood what was going on.  We are also knee deep in dolls now, much to her delight!

25.  Our #teamhonkrelay efforts get acknowledged in the local paper!

Saturday is Caption Day – 25th January 2014

Yesterday was Eliza’s 3rd Birthday and she had a fantastic day which was rounded up by a party in the afternoon making teddy bears at Lemur Landings, a local soft play centre.

Abbey went to school with many of the staff that worked there and insisted that they made her a balloon animal too, after all she is the birthday girls’ big sister.  I think they complied because she looked a little crazed!

Can you give this photo the caption it deserves?

The Beauty of Childhood

I love Tara’s thestickyfingersblog, as she takes such beautiful photographs of her family and dog.  One of the highlights is always Wednesday’s The Gallery and I try and join in every week.

Admittedly life has got in the way a bit recently and I haven’t taken part since before Christmas but when I spotted the theme this week I just had to take part.

This weeks theme is Beauty and I have lots of pictures I could use.  Tempted as I am to post a cute picture of Sebastian with his chubby cheeks, my eye kept being drawn to this photo.

ROUNDABOUT FUN

It may be slightly blurry as they are on a roundabout and spinning so fast, but it sums up the beauty of childhood and having fun.

Project 365 – Week 3

This week has been what can only be described as “EPIC”.

Who knew that when I signed up to take part in the Team Honk Relay that it would completely take over every waking thought, but it has been such fun and thank you to all of you who got behind us!

12.  Dressed as a Prince and a Princess, Isaac and Eliza set off for Nevie’s birthday party.  This is where I was introduced to the delights of the Didicar which changed my plans for the Team Honk Relay

13.  Sebastian wears his bobble hat for the first time and looks just adorable

14.  Isaac teaches Eliza how to play Skylanders Swap Force

15.  My team of Scooter Trainers whip me into shape for my marathon scoot.

16.  Leg 1 of my Team Honk Relay Effort saw me setting off in hail, but just look at the magnificent rainbow.

17.  Leg 3 of the Team Honk Relay saw Sebastian take the baton around the pool after his swimming lesson with Turtle Tots before we headed to Southampton to hand it over.

18.  I was lucky enough to go to the BumpPR 4th Birthday Party and Kara from InnocentCharmsChats and I recreated our Cybher pose 7 months on with our gorgeous boys!
