Go Ape

Project 366 2016 – Week Eleven

Only one week to go before the kids break up for the Easter holidays and excitement levels are picking up already.

The week started with a trip to Thorpe Park and the teens had a blast on all the adrenalin rides whilst I got soaked on the rapids and stormsurge thanks to my brood.

Thankfully the kids all appear to be better this week with no lurgy’s hanging around but we did have a scissor incident this week with Eliza cutting chunks out of her hair. An emergency hairdresser trip later and she has had 3″ cut from her hair and layers put through to try and mask the shortest bit. I don’t think she will be doing that again!

This week has also been dry and the bog, formally known as the garden, was dry enough to be mowed. The kids love being able to play outside with their toys again.

On Wednesday Hubby and I got out for the evening to a quiz night with friends. The quiz was super hard and we thought we would come last but we actually came second which was a nice surprise and on Thursday I headed to Weymouth Sealife Centre with Sebby where the Penguins delighted him by following his finger on the glass.

On Friday the older ones and I headed to Splashdown to try out their new spacebowl ride. It was great fun, even though I came out of it head first. Hubby didn’t ease me in gently and put me on the fastest slide first – revenge will be mine!

Saturday saw us heading to Go Ape and instead of spectating like I normally do I took part. It was great fun, apart from the nets as I have no upper body strength, but I ache in places I had forgotten existed today!

Project 366 2016 – Week Eight

After an epic week in France for half term, this week has certainly been quieter.

We started the week in Guernsey which was, quite frankly, a disaster. The only thing I can say about the island was it was CLOSED for business, even in half term, so we spent the day trundling from beach to beach in the high winds and driving rain. Thankfully the crossing home onboard the ferry was much better and no-one was ill. Isaac even got to meet the Captain.

Poor Sebby came down with Tonsilitis on the Monday and I had two sleepless nights with him with a temperature of almost 41 – these kids really know how to worry you, don’t they?

Wednesday saw Daddy take the kids to their swimming lessons and the one week I wasn’t there Eliza earned her 20m badge after months of hard work and Isaac got his 800m badge!!

By Thursday Sebby was feeling better so came out on the school run and on Friday Isaac finally earned his Doctor Who LEGO Dimensions for excellent behaviour at school and getting celebrated for his number bonds.

On Saturday we had a very a special visit to Thomas Land where we met up with some of my blogger friends and met the Fat Controller himself, much to Sebby’s delight!

Project 366 2016 – Week Five

After the exertions of last week, this week has been a lot more chilled.

On Sunday, following a successful bike ride on Saturday I decided to head to a local former railway line to get some more practice in, however, the ground although flat was slightly harder to ride on and although Isaac was off and pedaling into the distance, Eliza really struggled and I had to push her more than she pedaled. The outing then ended with Sebby falling face first into a huge muddy puddle as I help Eliza down a hill on her bike – note to self, always take another adult with you to help!

Thankfully we were five minutes from home, so I phoned Kian to run the bath, bundled everyone back into the car and set of home.

On Tuesday I started a new job – working part-time at the local pre-school and even though it is still working with children it was lovely working with other adults too.

On Wednesday it was swimming lesson time and after a bout of the water wobbles last year, Eliza has been working on her water confidence. She finally achieved her target of swimming a length on her back!
