Ringstead Bay

Project 366 2016 – Week Two

This week we have finally seen the back of the rain and although the temperature has dropped we have been out enjoying some much-needed sunshine.

Last Sunday was the last day of non-stop rain but we headed out to our local Beefeater for a yummy roast dinner.

The arrival of the cold weather mean’t we could dig our hats out and Sebastian was super excited to wear his new Thomas hat that Callan got him for Christmas.

On Thursday I met my friends in their gorgeous new house in Southbourne and as it was literally 2 minutes from the beach we took Sebastian down for a walk along the prom to Hengistbury Head.

The beach was also our destination on Saturday. We started at the Sealife Centre in Weymouth and also planned to do the Sealife Tower but it was closed which was a real shame as the skies were so clear. On the way into Weymouth I spotted a sign for Ringstead Bay and a cafe so I decided to head there with a promise of a fun beach walk followed up with a warming hot chocolate.

The kids had a whale of a time running up and down the shingle, making pictures with seaweed and throwing stones into the sea to make different sounds. Sadly we found the cafe was closed so they had to wait for their hot chocolate until they got home.

Project 366 2016 – Week One!

Welcome to my fourth year of Project 365, well really its 366 as it is a leap year!

This year hasn’t started as well as I hoped as we have been stuck inside thanks to the weather, but thankfully we are not in as bad a position of those up North and I really feel for those that cannot even get into their homes.

We started this year with having a family get together at home and had a very raucous game of Heads Up. At one point Eliza had to guess Eliza Doolittle and surprisingly got it really quickly. The second day of the year we were invited to Toby’s birthday party and Sebby’s favourite part was the bubbles!

Project 366, week 1

The 3rd day of the year started with torrential rain and I wasn’t hopeful about getting outside but the weather forecast predicted a two hour dry spell and we arrived at the beach just as the rain stopped to blow away the cobwebs. Day four was another indoor day sadly but Sebby had a blast terrorising the island of Sodor with Rex the dinosaur.

Week 1

Day 5 was back to school day, but not before Eliza started her birthday countdown on the chalk board and on day 6, Isaac surprised us all by getting his 600m swimming badge after 3 weeks of no swimming!

Week 1, Project 366

Day 7 saw Sebby return to pre-school and when he came home he promptly passed out on the sofa! The following day he was back at his swimming lessons and we finally cracked the catamarans – he had previously refused to even contemplate trying them!

Week One

Today we visited Rock Up in Whitely and the boys got their climbing wall fix whilst Eliza and Sebby charged around soft play.

Project 365 2015 – Week 48

We have had a slightly better week with Isaac this week as we discovered he was playing up at school as he didn’t want to say his line in his class assembly, so the teacher came up with a plan to give him a non-speaking role which he was happy with.

Isaac is normally my confident little man who loves showing off in front of everyone so this had surprised me, but by Thursday he not only delivered his line perfectly but completely stole the show with some Egyptian dance moves whilst all his classmates stood rigid.

Eliza kicked off the week at her friends Princess party and on Monday hubby had his day off so we took Sebastian to the Oceanarium to catch up with his friends, the turtle and the penguins.

On Wednesday, Eliza had the class teddy to stay so looking for somewhere interesting to take it for the school diary we headed for the library.

The weather has been a bit up and down this week, but has produced some spectacular skies which I just had to capture and include in my round-up.

Saturday was a mixed bag. We headed to Cadbury’s World for our Carnival Cruise Christmas Party. We had a great time meeting the Cocoa beans and seeing how chocolate is made (and tasting it of course). The drive home was horrendous though as it was torrential rain and high winds all the way back, plus they closed the A34 so we had to take a detour home which the satnav had a wobbly about and decided to exact her revenge by sending us down narrow country lanes, which is no fun in that weather!

Project 365 2015 – Week 46

After last week being mostly wiped out with Eliza being poorly I was hopeful that the other kids had escaped it, but sadly Sebastian came down with it too.

We started the week well with a trip to WWE Live in Birmingham and Isaac was over the moon to see some of his heroes up close. His little face as Finn Balour came out was pure excitement and awe.

Monday it was back to school and I thought Isaac would be tired but he had a great day at school and even scored and saved a goal at water polo.

Tuesday was Egyptian day at school and Isaac was dressed for the part. Wednesday started well and Sebastian went to playgroup but by the end of the afternoon I knew he wasn’t right and by the late evening he was being sick.

Thursday and Friday were spent at home snuggled on the sofa with my poorly boy but I did manage to get outside with Eliza to take some pictures for a review, and we spotted a rainbow on the school run.

Saturday everyone was back to full health but the weather was rubbish so we met up with friends at Lemur Landings soft play centre.
