Project 365 2014 – Week 14

The week started with Mother’s Day on the beach.  I was spoiled with homemade cards, flowers and I didn’t even have to cook.  We played frisbee on the beach and introduced Sebastian to the delights of sand, although he did decide to try and eat it at one point.

Hubby decided to clear out the shed (as you do) and found a load of seeds.  He decided to dig out all our old pots and plant them all with the kids.  It is completely normal to dress as Mr Incredible whilst doing the garden….isn’t it?

We were lucky enough to go and see Peppa Pig Live at the Lighthouse in Poole and Eliza thoroughly enjoyed herself. That same day I saw a message from Tots100 looking for Rosacea sufferers.  I have suffered for years and was lucky enough to be invited up to London to discuss it with none other than TV doctor, Dr Ellie Cannon alongside Sally Whittle and some other lovely bloggers, including The Olivers Madhouse, Franglaise Mummy and Grenglish.  Sadly they haven’t found a cure for it, but they do have some fab new treatments to try and a new campaign to raise awareness in June.

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 13

What a week!

Sunday saw Sebastian take part in an underwater photo shoot as part of his swimming lessons with Turtle Tots.  As it was Sports Relief I decided that we would raise some extra money by doing an underwater swim with Sebastian.  I stupidly decided to wear a Sports Relief t-shirt and discovered that sinking is actually harder to do than it looks.  Still, I am pleased with the results!

We have had the lurgy in our house, with Isaac being sent home from school on Tuesday.  The new school rules meant that despite being better by Thursday he had the rest of the week off.

On Thursday I went to London for a Lindam / Munchkin event.  I was making great time and set to arrive early when I hit traffic.  I was soon to discover that the road was shut because of a serious accident and what should have taken me another 15 minutes took me two and a half hours – I arrived as it was finishing.  I have to say that everyone was fab though and made sure that I got a cup of tea and Sebastian his lunch before we made our way back home.

On Friday we were invited to Legoland for a Duplo World of Wonder Event.  The park was empty so we were literally walking straight onto rides, meaning we actually got to do all our favourites and more!

week 13

82.  Having a giggle with Caroline and Stuart at Turtle Tots

83.  Isaac won his first ever medal at football

84.  Kian doing some Weird Science Experiments, although it was probably more to do with his brother being ill!

85.  Sebastian doing his “Flying without Wings” impression

86.  Enjoying a relaxing bathtime with his new Munchkin toys after 8 hours in the car – He was a superstar!!

87.  Amazing finds at Legoland – reversible superhero capes.  They got lots of comments from visitors wearing these as they charged around the park.

88.  Isaac went to a party and insisted on becoming a Monster

The Gallery – Swimming

There is one skill I insist my children learn – the ability to swim.

Not only is it a fantastic source of exercise and good for their health, but I feel it is especially important as we live by the coast.

My younger three all look forward to swimming lessons and I wouldn’t be surprised if one or all of them took up the sport competitively in the future.  For now though, it is all about the fun!

Swimming lessons have changed significantly since my eldest learned to swim and now you can even get pictures of them swimming underwater.  We had this done with Sebastian last week and I cannot wait to see them but in the meantime, we have some fabulous pictures from above which hubby took.

Project 365 2014 – Week 12

After a manic weekend last week, this week has been nice and quiet – well apart from the building work that has been creating havoc on the green space opposite our house.  The kids have been in awe of all the equipment that has been arriving, although there were promises that they would not access the site from our close and they all seem to turn up at school run time!

Anyway, I digress.  Sadly there is still no news on the job front, but I am a week away from finally finishing my CACHE Childcare Course.  It has been a long old slog and a real challenge trying to fit it in with the family but the end is in sight.  Sebastian has finished his Level 2 swimming certificate with Turtle Tots and we have his underwater photo shoot on Sunday – I am really looking forward to it.

Here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 2014 – Week 11

It has been another frustrating week in the ChelseaMamma household this week with still no news on the job front, however we have been enjoying an upturn in the weather.  Having hubby home has mean’t that all the garden toys have been liberated from the shed and put back in the garden.

Sebastian has claimed the swing for his own and I haven’t been able to crowbar Eliza and Isaac off the trampoline and seesaw.

Mum came out of hospital on Wednesday so I have been training her how to do her home shopping on her new Nexus10, although being an Apple girl I did manage to confuse myself at one point.

Here are this weeks pictures:

Week 11

68.  The Keep in Dorchester.  Hopefully my next visit to Dorchester will be to explore rather than visit my mum in hospital.

69.  We were sent the Penwizard personalised My Mummy book to review and Isaac read it to Eliza at bedtime.

70.  A misty scoot to school (have you noticed his bright socks?)

71.  We finally found the Frozen Elsa dress for Eliza and she insisted on wearing it on the school run

72.  A fabulous delivery from LEGO and all Isaac wanted to do was read the magazine that was included

73.  Sebastian has claimed the swing as his own

74.  We went foraging, treasure hunting and wild cooking with Studland Sea School and had an amazing time.  Blog post to follow……..

Project 365 2014 – Week 10

This week it has felt like Dorchester is my second home as I have been back and forth almost daily to visit my mum who managed to break her leg in three places.  She is in good spirits though and had another operation on Friday to insert a plate in her leg and is now in plaster.

Hubby has had two interviews this week but despite being promised a phone call on Friday by both companies we have heard nothing.  It is very frustrating and stressful as it would be nice to know one way or the other.

We have made the most of spending time together as hopefully he will be back at work very soon, not that he is getting under my feet or anything ;0)

Week 10

61.  Sorry if you are squeamish – this is mums ankle with scaffolding to support it

62.  Our local ice rink were running toddler sessions for just £4 so Eliza and I released our inner “Elsa” and had fun on the ice.  She preferred sitting on the seal to trying to skate, but who wouldn’t with mum pushing you round at high speed.

63.  We went into Poole for a wander and bumped into the Town Cryer – not someone you see everyday

64.  Eliza patiently waiting for her swimming lesson to start

65.  Eliza made some peg dolls all by herself – I was very impressed with her efforts

66.  I have never had so many comments about an outfit as I did today – all the mums fell in love with her red riding hood cape………the trainers did spoil the look though.

67.  The garden is finally dry enough to get the garden toys back out and the kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline, swinging and trying to get Kian off the seesaw!

Project 365 2014 – Week 9

It’s March!

How can it be March already?

We have spent lots of time outdoors this week, making the most of Daddy being home and the better weather.  I am, pleased to report he has two second interviews next week and a potential third so our fingers and toes are crossed that he will soon be back to work.

Sebastian has finally produced two bottom teeth after weeks of dribbling like a fountain and he seems a lot happier now they have appeared, although we have had a couple of biting incidents when I have been feeding him – Ouchie!

Here is our week in pictures:

Week 9 - 2014

54.  We went to Poole Park to feed the ducks and enjoy the park.  We just had to have a ride on the miniature steam train

55.  Isaac adores football club and was chasing the ball in this shot.  His passes aren’t very accurate yet, but he really enjoys it

56.  We took Eliza for a walk around Christchurch and she insisted on posing under this bare archway

57.  Swimming lessons with her best friend Olive

58.  We hit the local park whilst hubby had a telephone interview – about two minutes later we got caught in a huge hailstorm and had to dash home, hiding in the porch to keep quiet

59.  A real Proud Mummy Moment when Isaac was invested at Beavers – just look how proud he is!

60.  My cousin Emma visited from London so we decided to show her around a very muddy Moors Valley

Project 365 2014 – Week 8

Having hubby home over half term has been fantastic and he has finally witnessed how and why I sometimes have a bad day too.

The kids have been monopolizing all his time and often bicker over who can sit on his lap, although they have not been impressed by his much stricter house rules.

The good news is that hubby has passed a telephone interview for a new job this week and has a full face to face interview on Monday so we have everything crossed that it goes well.

Here is our week in pictures:

Project 365 2014- Week 7

47.  We went to Corfe Castle where our teddy’s took part in the Teddy Zip Wire activity.  The kids had a great time exploring the castle and learning about its history, but the favourite part was most definitely watching their brave teddy’s in action.

48.  Callan arrived to visit for Half Term, bringing his homework and revision with him – let’s just say that Physics was never my strongest subject so I wasn’t much help!

49.  Eliza snoring surrounded by her Doc McStuffins toys.  We are reviewing the Twinkle Tog sleepsuit and I only wish they did one in my size.

50.  Wednesday saw us take advantage of a fab offer to attend Monkey World.  It was a fantastic day out and Abbey and Callan loved it as much now as when they were little.

51.  We descended on the local park where Sebastian hogged the swing.  It was a bit boggy though after all the rain and Isaac ended up literally covered in mud!

52.  We have been asked to review a Kettler Go Kart.  After an hour of much huffing and puffing by hubby it was finally ready for a test drive and kept the kids amused for hours!

53.  The boys were back out on the Go Kart, so Eliza gave chase on her Microscooter.

Project 365 2014 – Week 7

It has another tough week here.  I couldn’t share last week but hubby lost his job for the second time in 18 months last week and although I have loved having him home to help, the stress of job hunting isn’t a pleasant one especially when there doesn’t seem to be much around that calls for his skills.

Still, life goes on and we made the best of it.

week 7, project 365

40.  We saw a break in the weather and headed down to the beach aboard our scooters

41.  I am a founder member of a local networking group, supporting mums in business and it was my turn to give a talk about all things blogging.  I expected a couple of people to turn up but there were 26 and I was terrified! (Photo credit to onebusywahm.com)

42.  The weather was horrific so we had a day at home.  I am busy introducing Sebastian to the delights of finger foods

43.  Kian and Eliza help me out with bath time

44.  It was a little chilly today and Sebastian was sporting not one, but two sets of Teddy Bear ears for the school run

45.  We headed out to Build a Bear to review their store and find out all about their Million Hearts, Million Wishes campaign.  They treated Eliza like a Princess and her new My Little Pony has barely left her side since

46.  We had a birthday party at our local Soft Play centre and this was the first time Sebastian got to join in.  By joining in, I mean gazing at himself in the mirror with the occasional tap of a ball!

Project 365 2014 – Week 6

This week hasn’t been a bit rubbish (if I am honest it has been shocking) but you just pick yourself up and get on with it when you are a grown up, don’t you?

I am sure I will share why with you in due course, but for now here is my week in pictures:

Project 365 - Week 6 (2014)
Project 365 – Week 6 (2014)

33.  We saw a patch of blue sky and made a dash to the park where we enjoyed some kite flying and all the activities on offer.

34.  I have been struggling to find Isaac football boots as all the shops only stock from a UK size 10…… I finally found some online in a size 8 (got to love eBay) and he didn’t slip and slide across the pitch for his football lesson

35.  We had so much hail it actually looked like it had been snowing and the kids slipped and slid all the way to school.  It still looked the same when we had to go out at 11am for Sebastian’s 8 month check too!

36.  I drove to Portsmouth in the horrendous storm as Callan had an interview with the RAF about joining up and doing an Engineering apprenticeship.  I am hoping it is what he needs to knuckle down and achieve the grades he needs.  One thing is for sure – there is no way I am travelling in that weather again – his train got cancelled and I had to take him home again and it was a little hairy at times!

37.  Eliza had her feet measured and they have grown (as had Kian and Isaac’s) which mean’t brand new Fairy shoes!

38.  I held a twitter party for UKMumsTV and Nick Jr to launch their new show Zack and Quack.  Here is Charliemoos with her daughter Olive and Eliza posing with the Robot they made.

39.  The weather was rubbish so we had an impromptu Pirate Party with our visitors which involved painting treasure chests and making Pirate Hats and eye patches.  We had great fun!
